RECR 4400 is an exciting, final step in your Bachelor of Recreation Management journey. By the time you reach this course, you’ll have a solid foundation in business management and recreation principles. This capstone course, taken in your final term, will bring everything together and challenge you to apply what you’ve learned in meaningful ways.

As a learner, you’ll use your knowledge and experience to demonstrate a deep understanding of business, community recreation, and research practices. All the work you do will be rooted in the principles of community recreation, and we expect the level of analysis and discussion typical of a fourth-year course in everything you contribute.

Throughout this course, I’ll be by your side, guiding and coaching you through the process. I’ll support you by:

  • Providing clear guidelines on assignments and discussions
  • Encouraging and supporting you as you develop your Applied Major Project
  • Offering timely, relevant feedback on your work
  • Asking thought-provoking questions to help you dive deeper into your projects and learning

RECR 4400 is a 6-credit course, meaning you’ll need to dedicate around 16-20 hours a week to classwork and assignments. Think of it as an investment in your growth—every assignment will help build toward your Final Paper. The key is to take the feedback we provide and continuously refine your work. Rather than simply combining past assignments into your Final Paper, you’ll need to show how your thinking and work have evolved through feedback and learning.

I’m here to help you make the most of this capstone experience and support you every step of the way!
